Follow our simple steps and let the compliments pour in
Covering up the bits you don’t like is NOT the solution, baggy clothes only serve to make you look bigger. Start wearing more fitted clothes even on the largest parts of your body and have the confidence that curves are not fat, they are your shape. By understanding how to dress for your shape, accentuating what you’re confident about and disguising the areas you don’t, your confidence will soar
Underwear are the foundations of all outfits and too often forgotten about. At SOS we believe dressing for your shape is just that and that the fad for shaper shorts and pull-in pants is not one favoured by most women we meet! Who wants to be sucked in to a totally unattractive contraption? Most ‘Dress Yourself Slim’ tips will only offer shaper shorts as your style advice, however fear not as SOS has done the hard work for you and has the solutions for you! We advise well-fitting bras whatever your size and a good choice of knickers to avoid any visible lines, colours or details and this alone will kick-start your style
Accessories are often thought of as the finishing touch to an outfit, when actually they can totally re-style and re-shape you, so use them wisely. Accessories always divert the attention of the eye. That means you should use short, chunky beads and scarves around the neck to draw attention away from the bum and hips or use long beads and scarves to slim down the bust if this is your area you want to slim. Easy hey?
Always create a waist. They eye will be drawn to the narrowest point and immediately create the illusion of a slimmer you. If you carry weight on your tummy area, opt for wider belts with stretch elastic to move with your curves and use long beads, scarves or open jackets to add to the slimming effect
Think about the fabric of your clothes - thicker, more stretchy fabrics and well-tailored clothes are much more forgiving and sculpting than soft silky satins and will mould your shape better than gliding over any unwanted bulges
Slim down the bum, hips and thighs by keeping the colour, pattern and detail here dark and plain. Prevent unnecessary bulging by sewing up loose pockets on jackets or trousers
Shoes are a key thing to think about when you’re trying to dress yourself slimmer. Tone shoes into the same colour of your tights or legs and a longer leg line will appear in an instant! Avoid horizontal straps on the ankle, which only shorten the leg
Heels may seem like the obvious one, but by creating height you will elongate the body and instantly slim down your shape
